This opinion was expressed by Secretary General of NATO, Mr. Anders Fogh Rasmussen on the results of the first working meeting of the informal meeting of foreign ministers of 28 countries of NATO in Tallinn.
He noted that called bilateral agreement will not affect NATO”s relations with Moscow, nor, nor with Kiev, reports Reuters. Rasmussen said that Ukraine”s accession to NATO is still possible only subject to certain requirements.
recall, presidents of Ukraine and Russia Viktor Yanukovych and Dmitry Medvedev on April 21 signed an agreement that involves the extension of the Black Sea Fleet on Ukrainian territory for 25 years with the right of renewal for another five years unless one of the parties would so desire.
Under the current agreement, as well as in accordance with the Constitution of Ukraine, the Black Sea Fleet in Ukraine is limited to 2,017 a year. The new agreement must be ratified by the parliaments of two countries.
Previously, NATO Secretary General stated that the presidential elections in Ukraine have not changed the attitude of NATO to it.
